Optical Networks: Testbeds and Deployment

Building networks on owned or leased dark fibers has become increasingly popular among NRENs in the last years. In this session, we hear about experiences and lessons learned during the roll-out of major large scale research networks in Europe and the US. Dark fiber based networks also allow for easier setup of testbeds, where engineers can develop and test tomorrow's hardware, protocols and communication concepts.

Time: Tuesday, May 16 from 14:00 to 15:30 Archived streams are available per presentation.
Location: C
Chair: Cătălin Meiroşu TERENA (NL)
